My entry into “Birdhouses and Nests” on display at the Tucson Botanical Gardens
beginning September 26 through January 3.
To keep the work as local as possible, I fabricated a birdhouse recreating San Xavier del Bac Mission built approximately 1783. It still stands today just 10 miles south of the City and currently being restored.
It is topped with an assembled steel bush and copper bird nest complete with a Vermilion Flycatcher.
